🐟 Bronze Corydoras Care Tips

✅ Tank Requirements

Tank Size: 40 litres for a small colony (6+ fish); larger tanks (60L+) provide more stability and space for bigger groups.
Group Size: 6 or more; they are schooling fish and thrive in groups.
Substrate: Fine sand or smooth, small gravel is essential to protect their delicate barbels as they forage.
Filtration: Gentle, efficient filtration (e.g., sponge filter or canister filter with baffled outflow) is recommended to maintain water quality without strong currents.

🌡️ Water Parameters

Temperature: 22–27°C (72–81°F)
pH: 6.0–7.5
Hardness: 2–15 dGH (soft to moderately hard water)
TDS: 100–300 ppm

🍽️ Diet

Omnivores/Bottom Feeders: Main foods include high-quality sinking pellets, flakes, and wafers.
• Supplement with live or frozen foods such as bloodworms, brine shrimp, and daphnia for growth and colour.

🧼 Tank Maintenance

• Perform weekly water changes (10–15%) using dechlorinated, temperature-matched water.
• Ensure the substrate is gently cleaned to prevent detritus build-up, but avoid over-cleaning to preserve beneficial bacteria.

🤝 Tank Mates

Very peaceful; best kept with other small, non-aggressive species like tetras, rasboras, dwarf cichlids, and other peaceful bottom-dwellers.
• Avoid aggressive or large predatory fish that may harass or consume Corydoras.

🍀 Colour & Health Enhancement

Lighting: Moderate lighting in planted tanks provides natural shade and enhances their subtle bronze sheen.
Diet: A varied, mineral-rich diet supports overall vitality and vibrant colour:

  • High-quality sinking pellets and wafers
  • Occasional protein-rich foods (e.g., bloodworms, brine shrimp) for growth and condition
  • Vegetable matter (e.g., spirulina wafers, blanched zucchini) for varied nutrition and colour
